Dreaming

I have returned from my vacation. Australia. A trip of a lifetime.

Something I always bring back from a vacation is another "happy place."

Remember the TV show, "Cheers?" The character Frazier Crane was a "shrink." On one episode, he helped a group of patients who suffered from the fear of flying. Carla, the barmaid, was one. Anyway, his treatment included teaching the patients to "go to your happy place." They were to close their eyes and visualize a place or event that made them feel happy and secure.

What better time to file away images of happiness than on vacation? I love ocean scenes: aqua-blue water, singing surf, and white speckled sky. Sometimes I include my family in the scene and sometimes I just like to focus on the wonder of nature.

Do you have a "happy place?" Get one or get several. You can bring them up anytime. Use the technique for stressful times or just for day dreaming.
